INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF MATERIALS FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AND ENERGY

The school

The Materials for Energy and Sustainability School aims to present the state-of-the-art and future perspectives of materials applied to renewable and sustainable energy generation and storage. Lectures will be given by some of the most recognised academic and industrial experts, who will merge their knowledge of physics, chemistry, and engineering in different fields. A general overview of the global energy landscape will be presented, also discussing conventional energy sources and next-generation nuclear power generation. The topics of the school are the global warming problem, conventional and sustainable technologies, solar energy conversion (photovoltaic and thermal), thermoelectric energy conversion, solar fuels, wind energy conversion, fuel cells, storage and vehicles. The school will be a great opportunity for students and post-doctoral fellows from all over the world to meet and learn from their peers and established experts in a friendly atmosphere, reaping benefits in terms of enthusiasm, knowledge and new ideas for the benefit of the future of mankind.
