INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL ON BIOELECTROMAGNETISM «ALESSANDRO CHIABRERA»

The school

The School of Bioelectromagnetism is dedicated to the methodology required to design and carry out experimental studies in bioelectromagnetism. In view of the health risk assessment of exposure to electromagnetic fields, the quality of experimental investigations is of utmost importance. Other main topics will be dosimetry and exposure systems, methods and problems of specific in vivo and in vitro studies, experimental planning, and data analysis. But also the effects of electromagnetic fields and electric currents on the nervous system (both central and peripheral), and the possible applications in the medical field with the participation of leading experts in the field with reports of exceptional interest, especially with regard to future applications in the diagnostic and therapeutic field, so much so as to suggest that we are on the threshold of a real revolution in which these therapies will be able to replace chemical drugs in some very important areas (just think of Parkinson’s disease, serious inflammatory states, severe neurological dystonias, etc.. ), without sharing their contraindications (some large pharmaceutical multinationals are realising this and are starting to finance this research, for which the name ‘electroceutics’ has even been coined). The school can potentially have an interesting future with a good participation of lecturers and students from all over the world.
