INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF ULTRASONOLOGY
The theoretical, methodological and clinical specialisations of ultrasonology in the fields of medicine and biology will be examined in the courses offered by the International School of Ultrasonology. Of particular interest is the type of updating and specialisation among the various branches of medicine and biology that use ultrasound as a common energy factor. In every field of the various branches of medicine and biology, there is a clear need for constant and vital assistance from technology. The results are certainly more sophisticated and reliable. This need requires a permanent meeting place for the most qualified international experts and the most fervent supporters of ultrasonology, at both a technical and clinical level. A constant exchange of information and data can take place between experts and, subsequently, between experts and students. This interaction between the various specialist sectors should be seen as a means of advancing the use of ultrasound equipment in medical practice. Issues relating to tissue characterisation from an ultrasonic point of view will be given particular attention in order to achieve improvements in technical construction and greater exploitation of current equipment. It is particularly important that those who use this investigative tool are up to date on the safe use of ultrasound equipment, both for patients undergoing the examination and for the operators themselves. The International School of Ultrasonology offers an opportunity to disseminate knowledge and provides a forum for in-depth study and discussion of one or more topics (determined on a case-by-case basis by experts) in the presence of students, graduates and hospital technicians. The School will therefore complement the teaching that individual teachers, associations or societies have already organised or intend to organise.
