The Ettore Majorana Foundation is an independent international institution that welcomes and promotes dialogue between scientists, researchers and cultural leaders, with the aim of supporting scientific development for the common good.

The Erice Manifesto

The Erice Manifesto represents a moral commitment for all scientists worldwide. Signed by over 90 Nobel Prize winners, it calls for responsible science in the service of peace and human rights.

Our exhibition spaces

Within the Foundation, some historic rooms host exhibitions that recount the legacy of 20th-century science, the ethics of knowledge and the social role of researchers.
Visits are possible upon request or during special events.

Wigner-San Francesco Institute

The church and convent of the Franciscan Friars Minor date back to 1364, with the bull of foundation issued by Pope Urban V on 22 August 1362 in Avignon.

Blackett-San Domenico Institute

The Dominican preachers founded this convent in 1486, to which the church of San Michele was added, forming a cultural and religious centre for centuries and becoming a priory in 1670.
