The frontiers of knowledge in subnuclear physics are largely determined by the maximum energies and intensities of particle beams provided by particle accelerators. Extending these frontiers requires not only the development of advanced technologies, but also an in-depth understanding of the behaviour of particle beams. Both for new accelerator facilities and for the continuous improvement of existing ones, refined theoretical approaches are required. In the past, such theoretical studies were largely based on the dynamics of individual particles. Today, with the very intense beam currents requested in the most advanced accelerators, and especially for storage rings, the consideration of collective phenomena becomes increasingly significant for achieving high performance. The school\u2019s objectives are to help young accelerator specialists acquire the most up-to-date knowledge on accelerator design and to stimulate closer collaboration in solving accelerator problems between all those working in the field.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
